![]() Manufacture’s name is illegible but appears to be “MANUFACTURED BY AM’N M’CH’N WKS”. Marked on the left side breech “ADDRESS POULTNEY & TRIMBLE, U.S.A.”. The bore is good, mostly clean with some light corrosion in the grooves. Serial # 8782.50 caliber black powder percussion rifle with a 21- 5/8” barrel. Rifle appears to be complete except for the rear sling attachment.ġ2American Machine Works Model Smith Carbine The plain walnut stock and handguard are in good condition with some minor marks from use. It is installed backwards and is missing the actual bolt cover. There is a rod attachment clipped to the chamber area marked “WH Co” it is part of a mud cover used in the trenches of WWI to keep mud out of the action. There is also some scattered dots of light freckling and the finish is starting to turn brown. The blued metal finish on the barrel and receiver looks like it was re-finished years ago. Appears to be mostly matching with only the mid-band mis-matched. The bore is very good to excellent, clean with strong rifling. 8mm Mauser caliber bolt action rifle with a 29-1/2” barrel.
